Is silajeet the same as shilajit? What about shilajeet or salajit?
Yes. Silajeet, shilajeet, salajit and shilajit are different spellings of the same substance. Our laboratory certificate uses "Salajit".

How do I know this is genuine shilajit?
Check the batch certificate first. Genuine resin also softens in your hand and dissolves almost completely in warm water. The current batch measured 97.2g/100g water solubility.
Why is your fulvic acid figure lower than jars claiming 60 or 80%?
Results vary with the type of product and the test method. The current PurePharm resin measured 35g/100g by titration. Both the result and method appear on the certificate.
What does it taste like?
Bitter, earthy and slightly smoky. Stir it into warm water, tea or milk. A spoon of honey softens the taste.
What exactly is tested?
Lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium, plus fulvic acid content, moisture, total ash, pH and water solubility. Every result is published with the method that produced it.
Taking it
How do I take it?
A pea-sized amount, about 0.4g, dissolved in warm water, tea or milk once a day. Not boiling water. Some people take it straight under the tongue.
How long before I notice anything?
There is no fixed time. Some customers notice a difference after two or three weeks of daily use, while others do not. Human studies have generally run for eight to twelve weeks.
How long does a jar last?
At one dose a day, the 15g jar lasts about 37 days and the 40g jar about 100 days, which works out at roughly R10 a day on the larger jar.
How should I store it in South African heat?
A cool cupboard is fine. In humidity the resin softens, which is normal and does not harm it. Ten minutes in the fridge firms it up again. Keep the lid closed and out of direct sun.
Who should not take it?
Pregnant or breastfeeding women, and anyone on chronic medication, should speak to a health professional first. This is a complementary product, not a medicine.

What if my order arrives damaged?
Email your order number and a photograph to care@purepharm.co.za. We will arrange a replacement.
