What you are choosing between
Two jars of the same resin, from the same batch, in two sizes. The 15 g jar is R500 and lasts about 37 days at a pea-sized dose. The 40 g jar is R999 and lasts about 100 days, which works out at roughly R10 a day and R25 a gram. If you have never taken resin, start with the small one. You will know inside a week whether you can live with the taste.
The sets pair a jar with raw honey or with the Arctic Balm. Honey is the traditional way to take resin because it takes the edge off the bitterness, and it is why the pairing exists rather than a discount looking for a reason.
Why the price per gram is the number to compare
Shilajit in South Africa runs from about R13 to R46 a gram, which is a spread of more than three times on what is sold as the same substance. Jar sizes here go from 10 g to 50 g, so a sticker price on its own tells you very little. Divide by the grams before you compare anything.

Every jar here is from a tested batch
Batch 250915 was analysed by Qarshi Research International, a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and a member of ILAC, between 28 November and 8 December 2025. Lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium were not detected by AOAC 999.10/11. Fulvic acid measured 35 g/100g by titration and the resin was 97.2 per cent soluble in water by gravimetric method.
That last figure is the one you can check yourself. Stir a pea-sized amount into warm water and watch it go. The whole report, with the method printed beside every figure, is on the certificate page.
We publish the fulvic figure even though 35 per cent is lower than the 60 or 80 per cent printed on some labels. Genuine raw resin typically measures 15 to 35 per cent depending on the assay, and titration and ISO 19822 give different answers on identical material, so a number without its method beside it is not information. That argument is set out in why a 50 to 80 per cent claim is a red flag.
Before you buy, from anyone
Ask for the certificate for the batch on sale, from a laboratory the seller names. “Lab tested” printed on a label costs nothing.
Read the heavy metals line first. A 2025 analysis of six commercial shilajit products, published in BMC Chemistry, found thallium in five of them.
Check the fulvic figure names its assay.
